UK Government makes true integration available via PSN Framework (March 2012)
The Government has, for the first time, appointed a true integrator to its PSN Connectivity Services Framework Agreement. MDNX, the UK’s largest independent managed network services provider, is one of only a select number of companies appointed by Government Procurement Service to assist the UK Government in its mission to create a network of networks and drive greater efficiency through all public sector bodies with the enablement of shared services.
MDNX already provides high availability, secure network services to over 3000 public and private sector customers. According to Chief Operating Officer (COO) Wayne Churchill, the company’s appointment to the PSN Framework is recognition of the cost, performance and service benefits that true carrier integration brings.
“We have been appointed to the PSN Framework because of our integration approach. It enables networks (both fixed and wireless) to be designed by selecting the optimum infrastructure provider and technology option for each location in a network which achieves the necessary performance, resilience, security and cost requirements for our clients. This approach also provides PSN clients the ability to constantly benefit from the evolution of network infrastructure and technology in the UK, as it becomes available to them.”
Churchill is looking forward to MDNX being in the vanguard of the Government’s drive towards the greater use of shared services. “Our principle focus is to deliver the next level in service for our customers through integration and commercial and operational transparency.
Our solutions already deliver substantial benefits to the NHS, Emergency Services, Education and Local Authorities, and our appointment will allow us to extend these benefits to a wider Public Sector audience. We look forward to helping Government promote PSN and championing the benefits of shared services.”
3 year deal is just the Tikit (March 2012)
MDNX has secured a 3 year deal to provide Tikit with an innovative Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud solution that has been built specifically to enable them to offer their own Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) package to their extensive client base in the UK.
Tikit, one of the largest independent suppliers of technology solutions and services to legal and accountancy firms in the UK, with over 1,400 UK, EMEA and North American based clients, is leading the charge within their sector by launching their TLO (Tikit Legal Office) solution, aimed at providing small and medium sized law firms with a comprehensive package for their practices, including accounting, document management, CRM and time recording.
This innovative cloud-based outsourced solution will benefit law firms not only from a reduced capital cost, but also enhanced mobile access and reliability. It is offered in a pre-bundled and ready to rollout format that is easy to implement and allows law firms to manage and control their IT costs by adopting a simple subscription based pricing model. The solution also overcomes the issues faced with implementing upgrades and new releases as Tikit takes care of this through its controlled desktop environment.
TLO is an important development for Tikit as it predicts many law firms, under pressure to increase efficiencies and profit margins, will look to outsource much of their IT function. Tikit is uniquely placed to benefit from this development given its place at the heart of the professional services IT industry.
Tikit chose MDNX as their preferred supplier because of its specialist expertise in delivering IaaS solutions into the legal services sector, and its ability to design and deploy a cloud platform to Tikit’s unique and specific requirements.
Major £7m contract win (December 2011)
MDNX announced a major new contract win for the provision of VoIP services to one of its largest enterprise customers.
